Today was a sad and unexpected day for the 80s and 90s babies who listened to Hip Hop. Chris Kelly (the “Mac Daddy”), of the 90s hip hop duo Kris Kross, was pronounced dead yesterday at the Atlanta Medical Center of a possible drug overdose. Authorities are still investigating to determine the actual cause of death. Hailing from Atlanta and being discovered by Jermaine Dupri, Chris Kelley (the “Mac Daddy” and Chris Smith (the “Daddy Mac”) rose to fame in the early 90s from their hit “Jump,” which was featured No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Kelley was 34 when he died.
